Lake at Field Head Farm
Please feel free to walk round and enjoy our lake.
It’s been built with nature in mind, and is home to much wildlife such as frogs, newts and a spectacular display of dragonflies this summer, we’re hoping more will join them.
We also plant the banks with a wild flower conservation grass mix to encourage Bees, butterflies and all manner of insects. Many varieties of water fowl also drop in and use us as a pit stop, whilst a pair of swans chose to nest and raise their cygnets here.
Polite requests – Our lake is very deep, so we recommend children do not walk round the lake unsupervised.
Other things to note:
• Swimming is not advised due to the water temperature and the pond’s underwater features.
• There will often be cattle in the adjoining fields, we request that guests do not feed the animals and remain within the lake site in the interests of their own safety.
